Orange IS :: The OrangeIS Sports Academy is to offer an ongoing campaign of competitive sporting and physical activity programmes to the local community in Hackney. Through their participation in these activities we will identify those young individuals possessing a passion, commitment, drive and desire to succeed.

Welcome to the OrangeIS Sports Academy

Orange Information Systems are embarking on an exciting new project to deliver the OrangeIS Sports Academy and are currently in discussions with Hackney Borough Council - the Official Host Borough for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

After the OrangeIS Sports Academy’s official launch on 2nd April 2009, at the prestigious Emirates Stadium (see City Warriors - www.citywarriors.co.uk for event information), the already well-received OrangeIS ‘Street to City’ Initiative will commence.

Our vision for the OrangeIS Sports Academy is to offer an ongoing campaign of competitive sporting and physical activity programmes to the local community in Hackney. Through their participation in these activities we will identify those young individuals possessing a passion, commitment, drive and desire to succeed.

Individuals showing these key qualities will have the opportunity to benefit further from the OrangeIS ‘Street to City’ Initiative. Some young people will shine, others will glimmer, but we aim to develop all those who stand out, and provide them with the opportunity to understand and experience the vast array of career opportunities which await them on their doorstep – the City of London.

As technology partner to many of the UK’s most prominent Corporate, Public Sector and National Health organisations, awareness of the OrangeIS brand and ethos within the corporate arena is strong. By utilising our business infrastructure, and that of those from similarly minded businesses within our network, we can guarantee the OrangeIS ‘Street to City’ Initiative will be able to provide the youth of Hackney a wide and varied range of professional work experience, and career opportunities.

Led by OrangeIS’s HR & Marketing Director, Catherine Younger, we are currently researching similar community projects by drawing upon existing successful youth programmes. Included within these is the much acclaimed “Sports Action Zone” (www.thesportactionzone.org).   Currently delivering outstanding sports and physical activity programmes to the community within Lambeth, OrangeIS aim to deliver its own exciting vision, with equal success.

With our bright future assured, we are currently seeking other like minded visionary partners who want to make ‘a difference’ within our local community, providing young people with opportunities that may not otherwise be available. Investment in these communities, and the young people in them, will provide greater opportunities and resources for our future generations to succeed, and for us to succeed with them.

We welcome all your comments and suggestions (sportsacademy@orangeis.com).
