The success of OrangeIS continues with another successful storage implementation that has significantly reduced cost and meets current and future business requirements.

OrangeIS were approached to provide a storage solution that reduced the clients TCO and simplifies their current storage environment. The current solution in place, while fit for purpose and initially competitive had became increasingly expensive to upgrade.

After engaging with OrangeIS, and running a number of proof of concepts it was decided that a Virtual Storage Solution would hit the companies objectives now and in the future.

OrangeIS designed and implemented the Virtual Storage Solution that enables the client to separate the underlying physical disk infrastructure from the intelligent controllers, which not only reduced the TCO but also empowers the client with the choice for future expansion and growth by allowing them to become completely vendor agnostic.

OrangeIS Enterprise Solutions is looking for a desktop virtualisation consultant to join an existing team of enterprise delivery consultants. The consultant will be responsible for delivering medium to large scale desktop virtualisation projects as well as following and contributing to detailed design work packages.

The role is focused on Citrix and VMware solutions; however a solid understanding of the broader virtualisation landscape and vendor products such as Quest, Application packaging/virtualisation, RES/Appsense, and Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems are also required.

You will have core expertise in Citrix and VMware products; XenApp, XenDesktop, VMware View, vCenter, vSphere and a Citrix CCA or VMware Certified VCP accreditation is also desirable. A firm understanding of the infrastructure to support virtualisation environments including network and storage technologies is also an advantage.

The successful candidate should come from a solid support background, with previous experience of working in a 3rd Line Support environment.

In addition to your primary job function, you will also be required to work alongside the existing OrangeIS technical team, supporting projects which will range from Microsoft systems implementations through to helping with technical queries.

Role/Principal Accountabilities:

• Day-to-day duties will range from assisting in technical pre-sales activities, through to high-level and detailed design phases to actual migrations and implementations on medium to large projects.
• Capability to design desktop virtualisation environments for small and large scale projects (>200 Desktops). - Provide technical authority and responsibility for mainstream desktop virtualisation solutions.

The successful candidate should be a recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an IT professional with equivalent experience

Successful applicants will receive work based training, shadowing our Subject Matter Experts, in addition to attending vendor training and achieving industry recognised certifications.

The role is focused on virtualisation solutions; however an understanding of broader IT infrastructure technologies is also required. You will have worked with Microsoft Active Directory / Exchange and SQL, and must also have a good grasp of the virtualisation arena, including VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Hyper-V

Role/Principal Accountabilities:

• Day-to-day duties will range from assisting in technical pre-sales activities, through to assisting with customer onsite installations and implementations.
• Capability to support virtualisation platforms for small and large scale Virtualisation projects (3 to 100 ESX host servers
• Significant client site attendance during project fulfilment activities.
• Qualify hardware and assist with deployment platforms.

Building on the launch of OrangeIS Enterprise Solutions, key technology partner FalconStor invited OrangeIS Group to join them at Storage Expo at London Olympia.

As recognised experts in the FalconStor flagship products - Network Storage Server (NSS) and Continuous Data Protector (CDP), OrangeIS Enterprise Solutions were keen to maximise their potential, and attend.

The event was unique this year, as for the first time there was a "Channel Zone" where resellers could meet end users during the event, in designated meeting rooms. OrangeIS & NetApp Celebrate "Storage Cafe Workshop" Success!

Having recently gained our NetApp Gold Partner accreditation, OrangeIS hosted the first of their "storage cafe workshop" seminars at an exclusive event in London.

Anthony Bright gave an introductory overview of OrangeIS and Matt Watts from NetApp then guided us through their technologies. The workshop focused on the challenges faced by IT Managers with today's ever increasing storage demands and how NetApp's product efficiency can be implemented to fulfil this cost effectively.

Anthony Bright said " Large seminars are attractive if you are appealing to the masses, but as a customer led business we wanted to understand their storage challenges on a more personal level. By hosting these smaller more intimate workshops, both OrangeIS and our clients will gain a far better understanding of those challenges and the technologies available to resolve them. The feedback has been extremely positive, and will ensure we will continue to run them on a regular basis".

The seminar was then followed by a superb three course lunch, and an afternoon of test match cricket in the company of cricket legends Ronnie Irani and Graham Thorpe.
